my children sleep under different roofs yesterday
I had two friends over for asian lunch on tuesday. The menu was beef curry, stir fried green veggie and spicy stir fried seafood cocktail. thanks to this I got myself a baby sitter for Hadi Johan last night. This really mean a lot to me as I never expect anyone to offer their help to look after Hadi Johan so that I can go out and have fun. I was really touched by my friend's offer. So that means Hadi Johan slept in Marknagils vegur (address), Danial slept in Garðavegur, Hoyvik and Jana Maria slept in Sámalsgota Kjallaranum with her cousin Janita. I just woke up and now I am going to fetch Jana Maria. Danial will be send to me in half hour time. I pick Hadi Johan up last night at 12mn. Great!

I know I should talk about my trip
Sorry girls! I know that I should actually be more informative about my trip to Denmark rather than talk about the now happening in the Faroe Islands but I am waiting for pictures to go along with my stories if there are going to be any picture in it too......I hope. I think?? Hmmmm.........tomorrow hubby will pick up from the shop and he will only scan them somewhere next week so you all have to be patient. I am going to watch Batman Begins now with someone from Sri Lanka. She wanted to watch Sahara with me tonight as arranged on saturday but she went on sunday with someone else. So now she wanted me to watch Hostage with her but I want to watch Batman so she has to go along. Her 13year old daughter is coming along for this movie at 2300hrs too!
I am having a whale of a good time at home because of good weather plus Danial is away with Una (a nice lady who is like a surrogate family for Danial to visit twice a month now for 2 nights each time).
I have also arranged for Danial to sleep in Gjógv on wednesday night with Annika (Hallgerð's mom who is a specialist teacher in the school for special needs children). More later. Now it is 2245hrs. Must be in the cinema in 15mins time. Time to get changed!

G! festival in the Faroe Islands
There are so many scandinavian tourists here now. I realized that most of them brought their own beers. They want to join in the celebrations that the faroese organised each year. When it is Olavsoka time, there are many activities lined up. Brian McFadden will also be performing here so you can imagine how packed and crowded it is going to be here.
The G! festival start on friday and last till sunday late night. Most probably 4-6am. But this year the organizer make sure to include more playspace with many slides and swings and jumping castles for children. So families can come together instead of arranging nannies or abandoning children altogether to fend for themselves just because the adults are planning to get drunk. Apparently, that's the only way to have fun as I was "told off" by someone who was shock that I don't drink alcohol and still say that I am having fun.
Either way, I am not interested in going to these festivals lined up till the 29th july. One thing I can tell you that is for sure.....is that, the streets will be full of drunkards. Foolish drunkards with bottles under their jackets and arms, smoking unlight cigarettes, trying to stand or walk and ofcourse dropping every single notes they have. They usually woke up with no money and the children are so rich the next day! They go money picking off the streets.
Well, there are some many sides to it too. There are people who enjoy stumbling other people that they know on a busy street and see how many can they meet while they are out. People come from all over the villages as it is usually the only time to meet relatives or long-lost friends. Many babies are made out of this days actually. Drunk boy meet a drunk girl and they shag and babies happen. Or unprotected sex while under the influence of alcohol so the 5th baby come unplanned! That sort of thing. I only go so I can buy helium filled cartoon character balloons for my children.

Jana Maria birthday in Denmark
Looks like we are going to be in Denmark on Jana Maria's birthday. Danial went to the hospital on friday and had seen the ophthalmologist. He found the optic nerve intact and there don't seem to have deteriorate as expected of a person who has been blind for some time so that is good. He suggest that Danial don't realy need to use spectacles unless there is something that attracts him to tv watching session! So we are waiting for the neurological test to be done on him on wednesday morning at 9:30am. He actually had been for it last friday but it was not successful. They cannot performed the test with him so active and not sleeping. So this wednesday we will be giving him melatonin to make him sleep. I hope it is not something else. More report if I have time. now Jana Maria need to go to the toilet. By the way, she had high fever on friday night ad sunday night was Hadi Johan (he is still feverish and sickly now) and Danial is coughing now. I sure hope we are all not going to be sick in turn. No fun!!!
I plan on going to the zoo with them or the safari park but now it looks like we have to plan an "indoor" outing! Meaning only drive around in the car and no exposure to outdoor at all!

Hotel torshavn
hello all. I am sorry Maggie that I have not taken any photos of my family vacation. You see, it is quite funny actually. We brought our camera and I have been clicking away like mad and then I realised...........oh..........oh...........oops! There's no film in it!
Anyway, we all had a lovely time in Lalandia. We left at 10am this morning and now we are in Hotel Torshavn in Copenhagen. I do not have much time to report actually but I will be back on Saturday, maybe, possibly?? Not hopefully though because I really want to extend this "holiday" but my hubby had enough I think. Later gals!

My Dánial
This is a close up of him wearing his spectacles. Sure look to me like he see better with this. I can't wait to hear what the ophthalmologist will say about this. No one ever expect Danial to see again and he has prove all of them wrong.
Here's more pictures of Danial taken by Hallgerð today. Sorry for the quality. I forgot to tell her that I want to see Danial's face in the picture of him on a horse, not the man who will ride with him. Maybe next time I'll get a picture of him myself now that we have arranged for him to go riding once a week.

Danial had so much fun today. He went horse-riding for the first time and he was very calm and relax as you can see on the picture on the right. You cannot see his face as being blocked by the horse. You can only see the top of his wooly hat and the guide that was sitting behind him. The picture on the right shows Danial getting used to his spectacles. He like to lie down on the ground a lot. The doctors said that many sight impaired children like to do this as they feel safe knowing exactly where and what they are touching.

I am so glad today. The strike is over. Yahoo!!! I was getting used to it actually. I kind of like the night strike part where my husband cannot go to work so he has to be at home and help me out with my kids. That's one of the reason I got used to the strike so easily. But well, that "honeymoon" is over now. The srtike is off. Instead, my husband's office is locked now. His union has ordered them to go on strike now.
I am so sleepy now. I'll continue later. I have to start on the border now for my cross-stitch piece I am currently busy with. Found one great design that I like on Sanman Originals. So better get stitching now and talk later.

more on strike
This picture was taken today. I tried to publish it earlier but there was problem with the local telefon network company resulted from the strikes that is going on now by the electric company. Wonder how long they will put up with this strike thing. Every year is strike. Every "body" always go on strike and I am serious. They do. Unlike Singaporean, I think, here they have no sense of responsibility to their work. What else am I supposed to think if year after year they go on strike. Teachers, nurses, doctors, cleaners, salesman..etc. Weird. Maybe this happen in other part of the world too. I guess it's only because I was from Singapore that I think this is so unethical. Anyway, back to the picture, (so loosoh one! my mind keep on side-tracking all the time). I was planning on taking a picture of Danial with using his fancy blue spectacles actually but he was too busy pacing up and down the floor. I tried to put it on but he keep on chewing on the frame before I could snap a picture so had to drop it. You can see that Hadi Johan look confused by Danial's behaviour!
I was packing earlier today while the electricity was down and while my bigger kids were out in someone's care. I had to pack their diapers in one suitcase. Hadi Johan's diapers are not in it yet though. Guess we'll buy it when we reach Denmark. We decide not to bring my giant Santa Barbara suitcase (the one that I bought in Singapore with Maggie. Do you remember me dragging that giant suitcase Maggie? and then you have to pay the 500SGD of excess baggage cost, remember??? Lucky you were there or else I'll miss my flight!) Anyway, we will bring two rather medium sized suitcase and agreed on bringing only 3 sets of clothes for each of us. We'll always end up buying for our kids anyways while on holiday. As for us adults, we can always wash our clothes in the washing machine that is available in our rented holiday home and the Patient Hotel. I've got the tickets sorted out and our passports and letters to bring. I keep on thinking there's something more but cannot figure out what it is yet. Maybe tomorrow night I'll feel the adrenaline rush, then I'll remember what it is I need to do or pack or call or whatever that is bugging my head now.
two more days
Yes I have just two more days before our family will fly on the plane to go for our holiday! Everyone of us is looking forward to it. I still have not pack and there are some clothes that need washing but I cannot due to the intermittent loss of electricity. I am now typing as fast as I can as the electricity will be cut off in exactly 2 minutes from now. so continue later maybe???

Magic Circle
I just cannot help it but must post this again and again. My most favourite book is by an author called Katherine Neville. The book is entitled 'The Eight'. I have read it so many times when I was in Singapore and I want to read it again now but I cannot find them on the Faroe Islands. I was planning to go to the local bookstore here and ask if they can order that book in English for me and also her third book titled 'The Magic Circle'. I am highly recommending The Eight to avid bookworm and also to read up on the latest book. It is as the titled suggest, Magic! It will keep you on the edge of your seat an your nose buried for hours of fun and adventure through time-travelling and history...etc. Read it and began a wonderful journey through Algeria, New York, France and so on.........Amazing!
pissed off
How can anyone start any conversation like this, "My brother has found a girlfriend now. She's from Singapore!" so I asked if she is chinese or indian or malay. The answer I get was, "not sure, she's a bit dark but she's from Singapore. Somewhere in Indonesia!"
Can you imagine that? Someone coming from Singapore that is placed somewhere in Indonesia??? Some people just never think what comes out from their mouth. I wonder what's going on in that head? She goes on to say that "oh, I better check the atlas then" after I told her that Indonesia and Singapore are two different country altogether. I should think that she should ask this Asian girlfriend of her brother rather than the atlas. What can an atlas answer if you don't even know if the girl is malay or chinese or indian or singaporean or indonesian.....right?? arrrgghhh.....
Arranged to baby sit Danial almost 6 weeks ago with her and again two weeks ago and last week confirmed again with her and today she walk into my kitchen casually saying that "oh I am going to Denmark this year at the end of this month." I was too pissed off to remind her about her work. We have arranged for her to work on Ivan and Sharon's wedding party and now she talked about something like we have never talked to her about our previous arrangements.

I have not been updating my blog because:-
=>as you all know........I'm always busy
=>electricity strike is on thus power cut is going on every few hours
=>my mind is blank. lack of creativity as evidenced by my post
=>yes. busy again!
Anyway, thought I better write something on almost some things going on around me. I have stop working on my dollhouse for like 3 weeks now. Will have to pick up the pace and continue possibly after Jana Maria's birthday or perhaps in late August. Hopefully there will be some money on my very flatten flat card by then to pick up my hobby ;-¤ . As for my wedding present cross-stitch for our friend Ivan and Sharon, I Have finished all the lettering today. At last! But I still have to decide on the border and find the bird design that I wanted to fit in the piece. I hope I will have time for that. Maybe I will now that Hanus has taken his summer holiday. He still has to work in the evening at the cinema though so not sure how much time will I get. My mind is kinda busy with the thought of our impending holiday trip to Denmark though. That is why I simply cannot do anything when my mind is so far away.
I let Danial stay at home today with me because he was so terrified the last time of leaving home. I think he like it much better to stay at home. He's happier but the only problem is that it is too much for me. I cannot get any washing done or cooking or can't even knit. He climb all over the kitchen table. He always tilt his chair when he sit so someone must watch out that he don't fall backward even during sitting. He rub soaps all over his eyes. He turn on the cooking plate or oven. He bites furnitures and throw them all over the floor. He throw things in midair without care who will be hit. At 3pm today, he suddenly toppled the baby highchair to the floor with Hadi Johan in it!

yesterday and today
It is a rainy day today and I have been walking outside anyway, despite my fever and mastitis. It's horrible when one has mastitis. You feel like someone stabbed you in the back and your breast is so painful at just a mere move of your shoulder of the affected side or if someone just brush against your chest when they walk. Oh my God! I went out anyway yesterday too.
I went to visit my friend Martin as I have not visited him for the past 4 years. The last time I visited him was when I was pregnant with Danial. We go out last year to watch a movie after dinner at Janet's house but that's the last time we go out again. He has another baby girl now born on 23th June. So despite feeling crappy last night, I arranged for him to pick me up at 8pm so I can come over to congratulate his wife on their next little miracle. Ofcourse I put Jana Maria to bed first. That was easy. She slept at 7pm. Then it was Hadi Johan but he decide to be a bit difficult as he is still having slight constipation so he has to come along with me. I manage to squeeze in a couple from "Soldarfjørður" at 7.40pm who came in to buy my old combi baby carriage. I got 2000kr for it and was glad. I was glad because that couple was very pleased with our deal. My Brio combi has always been well looked after and they got a real bargain actually because I throw in a pump that is attached to the carriage for convenient use, a shopping bag, baby seat belt, baby lift for use in the dual carriage cum stroller, the mosquito net and the raincover and the wheels are rubber filled air too!
Anyway, today I went out to fetch my tailored made pants. I put Jana Maria in a little stroller (Hadi Johan left at home as it is only 5mins walk to the shop) and off we went. As soon as I got home, I found out that she had forgotten to measure the length and it is too long for me so I will go back tomorrow to have it shorten a bit for me. The salesgirl actually told me that I can just put it in the tumble-dryer if it is too long and it will shrink by 4cm! Weird. Why would I want to do that. It may shorten it by 4cm but what that salesgirl never think about is that, if it shorten the length by 4cm, what if it shrunk to small size by 4cm all around, then it will be left with small size for me!
