Ready

Think I'll have a nice and cosy birthday tomorrow now that I have finished all my baking. Just to whipped up some cream to dress my cakes tomorrow and Get the rest ready tomorrow.
Still waiting for time to pass before I go for my haircut. Have arranged for Jana Maria to play with her cousin Janita supervised by my brother inlaw's girlfriend. Arranged for Hadi Johan to be looked after by Majken along with Danial. I got to walk though. I have just finished my shower. Now must think of dinner preparation for the kids.

Toyota Avensis

My hubby has signed up for this type of station car today when I thought he left for work at 1300hrs. It will be light olive green in colour and delivered in 3 weeks time. Brand New Model ofcourse.

Time for a haircut

My daughter want me to have long hair like her. She always told me that.
My hubby has never expressed his view as to whether he like me with short hair or long hair.
But I am getting really fed-up of my shoulder length hair now with the hot weather coming. So I asked my hubby if I should cut or keep. He was too eager to answer, "CUT!". So now I know he like it better short than long. Upon asking, he admitted that he never liked my long hair. He think I always look cute with short hair.
As soon as he left for work at 1300hrs, I pick up the phone and made an appointment for a cut.
There wasn't any time slot available so I just blurt outright to the hairdresser that I need to cut as it is my birthday tomorrow and Voila! I was given 1800hrs today. Hair salon closes at 5pm over here in the Faroes but she made an exception for me. How lucky for me. I am baking hot buns in the oven and some meringue in preparations for my birthday tomorrow. So better hurry.

Advanced
You scored 92% Beginner, 100% Intermediate, 93% Advanced, and 73% Expert!
You have an extremely good understanding of beginner, intermediate, and advanced level commonly confused English words, getting at least 75% of each of these three levels' questions correct. This is an exceptional score. Remember, these are commonly confused English words, which means most people don't use them properly. You got an extremely respectable score.

Thank you so much for taking my test. I hope you enjoyed it!

For the complete Answer Key, visit my blog: http://shortredhead78.blogspot.com/.

Guess what, those who is thinking of taking this seriously..........better think again. It is only primary school level if you know what I mean. It is not for adult as it is too easy. In fact, I am actually more embarrassed by my result. Zia

wiser now

I think I am wiser now. I thought I was wiser before too as people always tell me that I am mature for my age since I was 11 years old. Anyway, I know that my mom always told me that the more grey hair you have, the wiser you are. So I think I must be wiser than I was before. You see, I not only have like 10 white strand on my head but more than that. It is countless and I thought I never said this.................arrrrrrrghhhhhhhhhhhhh, I'm old!!!!!

Phew.

Now that is out of my system. What do I do? I'll be turning 33 next saturday and I am afraid that my beautiful black hair will all be turning white by then. It is funny that my husband said he don't notice any greying yet from me since I can see easily and so does anyone who seat across the table away from me!!

Am I wise? Are you wise if you grey?? I just thought that means old and people say things like wiser to console you. To make one gracefully embrace the aging process?
At 19 years of age, I was told by the orthopædic specialist that I have degenerative knee disorder.
At 29 years of age, a rheumatologist told me I have the joints of an 80 year old and I was too young for a knee or hip replacement candidate.
So am I ancient then now??

Wish my sore throat will go away, my watery eyes will clear and my headache will disappear.
Wonder when will this stop. It's been going on for so long now. Infact, the whole family has got it.

Anyway, on another note now. Danial's epilepsy "attack" has been increasing now and it is becoming more frequent. I am worried for him. We have given Keppra a try for more than a year period now and I think a year is a long enough period to give it a try. So we will ask the doctor now to change his epilepsy medication. I hope he will call back today as I am getting worried about the nature of my son's seizure now. He has been complaining of headaches ( he cannot verbalise but he shouts "oww head" non-stop and bang his head often and cries in pain or frustration) for so long now. I think 1000mg a day for a 5 year old who weighs 30kg is a lot although the doctors still think we can "up" the medicine more.

short drive

Lately, we have been going for a few "short drive" before lunch. This is because my hubby is car-crazed at this time of the year. Summer is coming and I have a feeling that he want to bring our family for a nice holiday together on a cruise ship to Denmark instead of flying. Maybe it is because I have always said that I love sailing and it is way cheaper than flying. I am not sure but this car-crazed attitude is freaking me out. Where are we going to come up with the money?? I think he forgot that part when he borrow a car for a test drive. It is something that makes his day to be able to drive in his dream car..................TOYOTA anything!!!!

sunny

It has been a long time sine I post pictures. This is because my digital camera is not functioning now. Plus, I am too lazy to connect the card reader to the CPU to upload the digital photos to computer. But I really missed taking pictures and posting with pictures so I might just do that one day.

It is a beautiful sunny weather today despite some strong winds. I cannot wait for it to be "barbeque weather" again. Looking forward to summer this year as the children are growing up so fast. It is just fun and more fun growing up with children in your life.

visit

This picture was taken by Annie on easter sunday. She and her mom drove me and Hadi Johan to Toftir. My hubby, Jana Maria and Danial join us about over an hour later to fetch Hadi Johan and me home.
See how well he is now.

Danial and Gumma

This is a picture of Danial with his Godmother Annie (she's Hanus' cousin) taken during the easter holiday. annie came for a short 4 and half day visit to the Faroe Islands. She lives and work in Iceland.

My 3rd year old daughter has been complaining of stomach aches since the month of March. At first I thought it was just nonsense because she says things like "I have pain in my stomach because my baby is kicking me", and "my tummy ache will stop tomorrow because my baby will come out then and she will be name Sonia (spelled Sonja in faroese).
But last night, she has high fever after we came back from Toftir. The "ommasystir" lives in another part of the faroese groups of islands called Eysturoy and in a village called toftir.
Anyway, Jana Maria is too sick this morning to get up from bed. So it look like we will not be going for the easter egg throwing in the afternoon. The faroese usually boiled some eggs, then paint it and give it to the children to roll it down the hills. Then it is up to the child if they want to eat it or throw.

Happy Easter

Happy Easter Holidays to all!!!
I am off to visit my hubby's spinster aunties at 4:45pm today. They are 70 and 85 years old and have always live together, never been married or engaged. Since my mother-in law is convalescing in bed and her youngest brother is also nursing his bronchitis in bed, there's not many people visiting each other around. As for my hubby, he is obsessed with football so he refused to budge anywhere today. He will spend his time in front of the tv. The only time he give in to not watching football was on our wedding day 24th june 2000. It happen to be the World Cup Final and he had to give that up for one day to get married.

hmmmm.........who should I bring???? I think his cousin or her mom will be the driver so I am not sure who I should bring. Jana Maria or Hadi Johan??? I am still nursing my little boy. Jana Maria want to see "ommasystir"(meaning sister to grandmother). Not sure yet. We'll see later.

more rambling?

Just came back from a baby christening celebration.
Barnadópin (pronounced as baad-naa-dough-pin) means child baptism. One of my indonesian friends (only got 2 actually!) recently gave birth to her first child. She named her child after her mother inlaw and herself. How quaint.
Anyway, I was honoured to be invited since I wasn't asked to be the Godmother(well, I am not close to her). The faroese usually invite only the Godparents and their significant others and their own close family to a formal 3 course dinner before having an open house later for guests to some cakes and coffee. I think that was very nice of her. I had a really nice time there because her parent-inlaw are very good host/hostess. I am truly impressed.
My friend is indeed lucky to have married into such a kind and loving family who lavish her with everything she asked for and pampers her so much. She don't have to lift her fingers to do anything. Imagine, she's an asian you know. And what do our asian men do to asian women in asian countries?? I would rather not spell it out thank you. I am in heaven!!!

just rambling on

Well, finally my son is well again. How wonderful it is.
My mother in-law caught on the bug and she is well looked after by the doctor and nurses here. Guess that is because she is a very very mature adult. Maybe in this country they have not heard of the saying..........."Childrens are tomorrow's future" Heck! If you manage to reach 100 years old, the Queen of Denmark send a pack of 500g ground coffee you know. And that's what the old people here are so looking forward to and there's many of them who lives to that ripe old age over here. Not only that. They get a one page spread in the local news.
I wonder if that will still happen in 68 more years when I turn 100??????

big eyes

I have been so busy these few weeks. It is almost unbelieveable how often my children fall sick these days. When Danial was sick, I've got some time on hand because he sleep more or he don't get so active as he usually is. When Jana Maria get sick, she too sleep though not so much free time for me. But it is a totally different thing when Hadi Johan get sick. I have to be withhim the whole time, every seconds. He want to sit with me, sleep with me, and go to toilet with me. I cannot do anything at all. He has been sick for 4 days now. Fever and diarrhoea and vomiting. That poor boy. He has lost so much weight that now his big eyes look even bigger. Almost as big as his skinny face. His cheek is so sunken, his body look like POW during world war two. I hope he get better soon.

thanks Elaine and Maggie. The doctor are not admitting due to hospital budgetting. they are cutting cost down by not admitting patient on weekend. all patients that can, are sent home on weekends even. imagine this, Danial's careworker's dad..........he went for removal of tumour in the bladder and suprapubic catheter inserted on the same day and discharged to home within the same hour so his ailing wife can care for him. this man is blind. the wife has uncontrol hypertension (220/170) and parkinson!
so no........they are not admitting my son just for a drip!
