Selatrað

We were invited by a couple to their summerhouse in a place called "Selatrad". It was over an hour drive before we reach at this house yesterday. My daughter was so cold as she had forgotten to put on her jacket so she had to borrow a jacket from Heri, Malan's husband,(another couple that was invited along). There were many children to play with so it was really am enjoyable day for them. Plus the scouts camping ground was just around the corner and they happen to have some sort of sport competition going on so both children and adults were there to watch.

City council

This morning, we went walking after the monthly parent-child brunch. That's when I realize that we've never really "see" our city. This is a picture in front of the Torshavn city council building.

End project

Once again I was sent home as my ankle pain is still causing me to limp. Lucky for me she asked me to leave early as the pain in my ankle was worsening. It was worse than yesterday. I am thinking of going for another X-ray to see what's wrong with it. It should have healed a long time ago. Anyway, main reason for my posting was this picture that I took right after I reach home. Thanks sis for the lovely delicious yarns! They are so beautiful. Jana Maria was jumping with joy when I told her that her Singaporean auntie sent this gift for her. She was very proud that she said she will tell all her playmate tomorrow in daycare that she has an auntie.

Back from work

Look! I got this on my first day at work. Then when I reach home, there was an official letter waiting for me stating where I'll work etc etc and stuff. I am on the top of the world right now. Tomorrow I'll start at 7am, an hour earlier than today. I was asked to leave early as everyone could see how bad I was limping. So not bad for first day from 8am to 12:30noon. Did you know that I couldn't sleep last night? I was so nervous and frightened and excited all mixed in. More frightened ofcourse. Well that's all for now. Got to catch up on some sleep before getting ready for parent meeting in Danial's respite home in another part of the island tonight at 6pm to 9pm.

Animal Day

Yesterday My hubby, HJ, JM and I went to the "djóradagar í Havnardali" (Animal days in Havnar valley). The weather wasn't nice to us. Hope today it will be better. We are planning to go again today for 3 reason. Yesterday the kids didn't get a chance to go ponyriding as my hubby has to go to work before that event start. We also have not use up all the coupons which we bought yesterday to use with all the rides and the high slides. Thirdly, the tickets are for use for both days (saturday and sunday) after which there will be a lucky draw. Lets hope we win! Only 2 can win....so stingy! Got to take my kids to sunday school now.

My Danial

Taken just before he went to the weekend respite care. See here he can see my camera and tried to grab it from me. Yesterday he was angry that he couldn't move his chair at the kitchen table, he scolded his grandma for taking his place. He shouted,"Out! Out!" You cannot imagine how happy we were to hear that. It's his first time to be able to be scold us and saying that word. Otherwise he has been using only STUPID for everything. We were also happy when he scolded us with that word then. Thank God he's improving day by day.

My little runaway

It is cold outside today,windy and no sun. This little guy just ran outside in his undershirt and his sister's leather boots. He was trying to follow his sister up the hill to visit her friend. Lucky my hubby was home so I could ask him to run after our little guy here.

I've just started to do this now as my mind simply cannot keep thinking of knitting. Throughout my reading session I realized that I cannot give it my full concentration so I give up and started knitting. The sweater that I knitted few days ago is ready but still a little bit big for HJ now so JM uses it first for now.

Next project

Well I know I'm supposed to be reading a lot but can't help it. Just had to knit something. So this next project is for my youngest son using 100% faroese wool. Ofcourse I'm going to put it in the washing machine before he can wear it as I want it to be thick and warm. That is why the size is bigger now. It'll shrink by about 20% or more after I'm done with it.

After a tiring day

They had a real fun day at her daycare today! My hubby took them from 10am to 2pm today while I attended a course organized by the meinigheithus with Trev Gregory. It was supposed to end at 3pm but it went on till I'm not sure when as I left at 3.40pm. We went to Baresso to have some lattes. So i took this picture of my children.

My lunch

This is "skerpikjot" that I was talking about on my birthday that most faroese love. It is one of my favourite food too, the only thing to make me eat with ryebread. It is pronounced shershpichot. This was my lunch today. I just had it 10mins ago with a cup of tea. In general, I think I drink about 4-8 cups of tea a day.

Late for daycare

She love to pose for the camera. First thing in the morning, she put on this attire and ask me,"mommy, don't you think I'm cool! Like Bratz ha?". Then her little brother follow suit. He went in to search for his clothes. He come out wearing the Liverpool football attire complete with socks. Except that he forgot to ask me for a new diaper and underwear. We are so late to drive them to daycare today!

Healed

Went to the ortho follow-up yesterday. Except that the ortho specialist wasn't around,instead a young danish replacement doctor was there. He gave me 2weeks of sick leave after hearing that I was going to start working as a nurse. So I'm starting 21st May instead of 14th. Glad to be rid of my pneumatic foam walker (www.aircast.com). After spending 2hours in the emergency department, I went out for coffee with Janet in Baresso Cafe. Lucky for us we met someone we both know so we end up chatting over coffee. A pastime that I especially enjoy and used to back in Singapore.

Where's my summer?

Funny.........I remember asking the same question last year too! Guess it was the same or maybe it is the same every single year??

It is snowing today and the weatherman has reported that we are facing snowy condition over the weekend. Not an ideal driving condition after everyone changes their car tyres to summer ones.

I always look forward to summer time because that's when you can smell barbeque grill everywhere and see your neighbours and friends walking around in their yard wearing only bras or shorts. That's when we bring out the inflatable swimming pool for the kids, set up tent in my garden and pretend they live there, running away from bees and catching butterflies. Isn't it great??

Well, it sure took me long enough how to figure out my new sony ericsson K550i. Perhaps I did not spend so much time trying to figure it out before. But now that I have, I am well-pleased with myself. I get to take photos and post it directly to my blog. Isn't that great? I am very sure you all have known all this before or perhaps, have been using this since don't know when. For me, this is totally new thus why I am acting like I am. Very happy now that I have the opportunity to post pictures whenever and whatever I want on my blog!
